REFERENCE PROJECT
Decommissioning planning and performing.
Norwegian Nuclear Decommissioning (NND) are decommissioning the Norwegian atomic program, handling the waste and remediating the soil for clearance of the areas. Jonatan at Greenfield Strategies is helping NND as a project leader for the characterization project. The project includes four research reactors, a waste repository and over 70 years of operations.
The aim for the characterization project is a full description of the three sites Kjeller, Halden and Himdalen regarding both man-made and natural parameters for the locations.
We are generating radioactive source terms and site-specific information following best international praxis. The information will be used during the full decommissioning process, for example:
- for planning and optimization of waste streams,
- for decommissioning planning,
- for waste handling during operational decommissioning,
- as the single point of information for safety analysis, including post closure of KLDRA and
- for clearance of the Kjeller and Halden sites.
